Surrounded by stunning countryside, A’ the Airts Community Art Centre warmly welcome you to the Royal Burgh of Sanquhar, the home of the original Sanquhar pattern . Learn about the history and heritage of this traditional way of knitting, still practiced today, from the Sanquhar Pattern Designs team with captivating presentations and hands-on demonstrations.

a day trip group Tour can include:
- On arrival, home-baked delicious scones and shortbread with tea or coffee from A’ the Airts Cafe . 
- A demonstration of the hand-knitting of Sanquhar Gloves. 
- A presentation on the history and heritage of the Sanquhar Knitting. 
- Overview of how the tradition of the pattern is being kept alive by the Sanquhar Pattern Designs team. 
- See how the patterns are crafted on knitting machines and finished as garments and other products. 
- Entrance to the Tolbooth Museum to see the historical displays of antique knitwear. 
- Visit to the oldest working post office in the world. 
- A chance to speak to the Sanquhar Pattern Designs team and view the range of products they produce. 
- Lunch in A’ the Airts Cafe, or if the party is larger, then this will take place in a private exclusive area. 
- Shopping for Sanquhar Pattern Designs and other locally made crafts in our shop.
